About the role
Domeo Resources International (DRI) is seeking a Laundry Manager to lead the laundry department at a hotel in Ozubulu, Anambra. This full-time position reports to the Executive Housekeeper or General Manager. You will be responsible for the efficient processing of guest laundry, hotel linen, and uniforms while ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily laundry activities, including sorting, washing, drying, ironing, and distribution.
- Manage staff attendance, training, and performance to ensure compliance with hotel policies.
- Monitor quality control, fabric care, and stain removal techniques to prevent damage.
- Oversee linen inventory, requisitions, and the tracking of clean and dirty items.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Department for equipment upkeep and safety inspections.
- Enforce health, safety, and hygiene standards, including proper chemical handling.
- Control operating costs related to water, electricity, chemicals, and linen replacement.
- Resolve guest complaints and coordinate with other departments for timely service delivery.
Requirements
- A minimum of an OND or HND in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Textile Care, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in laundry operations, preferably in a hotel or large hospitality setting.
- Experience supervising laundry staff and managing operational workflows.
- Strong knowledge of fabric care, laundry chemicals, and equipment operation.
- Good organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer literacy and report writing abilities.
