About the role
Emel Hospitals Limited is a multi-specialist hospital located in Festac Town, Lagos. Established in 1988, the facility is a purpose-built 44-bed hospital dedicated to providing quality healthcare. We are looking for a dedicated Laboratory Technician to join our full-time team.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Receive, label, process, and handle patient specimens correctly.
- Perform routine laboratory investigations within the approved scope of practice.
- Prepare reagents and other materials required for tests.
- Assist with quality control procedures to guarantee accurate results.
- Ensure proper storage and disposal of specimens and laboratory waste.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and orderliness within the laboratory.
- Report equipment faults or abnormal results to the supervisor promptly.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
- Adhere strictly to infection prevention, biosafety, and confidentiality protocols.
Requirements
- BSc or HND in Medical Laboratory Technology or a relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration and practising licence with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in a hospital or diagnostic laboratory is an advantage.
