About the role
MDaaS Global operates modern, tech-enabled healthcare clinics across Africa. Under the BeaconHealth Diagnostics brand, we provide radiology, pathology, and cardiology services to over 2,000 hospitals and clinics. We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our team in Umuahia, Abia State.
This is a full-time, onsite position within the Clinic Operations department. You will report to the Center Manager and work under the direction of the Medical Laboratory Scientist. Your main goal is to keep the laboratory running smoothly by handling specimens, performing tests, and supporting accurate data reporting.
Responsibilities
- Receive, process, and prepare patient samples for testing.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, including pH measurement and bacterial culturing.
- Maintain reagents, equipment, and laboratory inventory.
- Record results and enter data into BeaconOS, our internal clinical platform.
- Keep the laboratory clean, organized, and safe.
- Handle patient interactions with care and confidentiality during specimen collection.
Requirements
- OND, HND, or equivalent qualification in Medical Laboratory Science or Laboratory Technology.
- Current registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) as a technician.
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a hospital or diagnostic laboratory.
- Working knowledge of specimen handling, laboratory safety, and waste disposal.
- Computer literacy and the ability to follow established procedures precisely.
