About the role
TeamAce Limited is recruiting an Internal Control Officer for a reputable financial services organization. This full-time position is based in Victoria Island, Lagos. You will play a key role in strengthening internal control systems by monitoring operations, identifying risks, preventing fraud, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct internal control reviews, risk assessments, and control testing across the organization’s operations.
- Monitor financial transactions and operational processes to identify irregularities, control gaps, and potential fraud.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, CBN regulations, and applicable banking requirements.
- Maintain control exception logs and risk registers, and monitor the implementation of corrective actions.
- Support internal and external audits, follow up on audit findings, and prepare periodic management reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years’ experience in Internal Control, Risk Management, or Audit, preferably within a bank or financial institution.
- Strong understanding of CBN regulations, microfinance banking requirements, and operational, credit, fraud, and regulatory risks.
- Experience conducting control reviews, transaction monitoring, risk assessments, and audit follow-ups.
- Professional certification such as ACA, ACAMS, CIA, CRMA, or equivalent is an added advantage.
