About the role
Oando Plc, one of Africa’s largest integrated energy solutions providers, is seeking an Internal Communications Officer to join its team in Lagos. This full-time position reports to the Corporate Communications Manager. You will act as a trusted advisor to departmental stakeholders, ensuring that internal communications initiatives are delivered on strategy, on brand, on budget, and on time. The role focuses on building a desirable, engaged, and high-performing culture through well-conceptualized projects.
Responsibilities
- Project Management: Manage project documentation, timelines, and budgets for internal communications campaigns. Resolve risks and roadblocks to ensure continuity of delivery.
- Employee Engagement: Conceptualize and design engagement initiatives based on employee feedback and business priorities. Incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) considerations and evaluate the impact of these initiatives.
- Stakeholder Support: Build strong relationships with various departments. Translate departmental briefs into clear, audience-appropriate internal communications materials.
- Budget Management: Develop annual budgets, track actual spend, and manage procurement processes for agencies and vendors in line with company policy.
- Vendor Management: Engage external agencies on project objectives, track performance against service level agreements (SLAs), and review deliverables against quality standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in any subject, preferably in Social Sciences, Administration, or Humanities.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Marketing Communications or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing internal communications projects end-to-end and briefing external agencies.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to run multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including copyediting and proofreading.
- Postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
