About the role
SIMS Nigeria Limited is a leading consumer electronics business with locations across the country. We are looking for a detail-oriented and ethical Internal Auditor to join our team in Ibadan. You will work closely with various departments to protect company assets, improve operational efficiency, and support our organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Conduct planned and ad-hoc internal audits across finance, operations, sales, inventory, and administrative functions.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes, and governance practices.
- Investigate suspected fraud, irregularities, and policy violations, then report findings to management.
- Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to the Audit Manager or Head of Audit.
- Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Review procurement processes, vendor transactions, and financial records for accuracy and compliance.
- Perform branch audits, cash counts, inventory verification, and fixed asset inspections.
- Support external auditors by providing relevant documentation during statutory audits.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in internal audit, external audit, risk management, or compliance.
- Strong knowledge of internal auditing standards, internal controls, and corporate governance principles.
- Good understanding of IFRS, financial reporting standards, taxation, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent report writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- ACA, ACCA, CIA, or other relevant professional qualification is an added advantage.
- Experience using ERP systems (e.g., Odoo, SAP, Oracle) is an added advantage.
- Willingness to travel to branch locations for audit assignments.
