About the role
FactBase Consulting Limited is hiring an Internal Audit Officer for a reputable client based on Lagos Island. The client specializes in the procurement, distribution, and promotion of literary materials, serving retail and wholesale customers across Nigeria and neighboring African countries. This is a full-time position with a monthly salary of ₦300,000 to ₦350,000.
Responsibilities
- Review invoices and ensure the correct posting of all payments.
- Conduct routine audits of invoices, quotations, sales transactions, and other financial records.
- Monitor inventory management processes, including stock receipts, transfers, sales, and returns.
- Participate in stock taking to ensure accurate stock records are established.
- Reconcile sales invoices and physical stock balances with inventory records to identify discrepancies or losses.
- Investigate adverse balances and submit accurate reports to your supervisor.
- Assess compliance with policies, financial procedures, and internal controls.
- Identify potential fraud, errors, or control weaknesses and report findings.
- Prepare clear audit reports highlighting findings, risks, and recommendations.
Requirements
- B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of two years’ relevant experience in internal audit, preferably in retail, bookstore, supermarket, distribution, or inventory-driven businesses.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting or inventory management systems.
