About the role
Benin Electricity Distribution Plc. (BEDC) is a licensed retail electricity distribution company serving Delta, Edo, Ekiti, and Ondo States. We are currently seeking to fill four (4) Internal Audit Officer positions. This role is vital for strengthening transparency and accountability by evaluating processes and operations through a risk-based auditing approach.
Responsibilities
- Review financial, operational, and compliance processes to ensure effective controls.
- Monitor the enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policy compliance.
- Follow up on audit recommendations and track their implementation status.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and control enhancements.
- Participate in internal audit engagements and investigations.
- Document findings and prepare comprehensive audit reports.
- Assist in executing audit engagements to ensure efficiency and timeliness.
Requirements
- HND, B.Sc, or B.Eng in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in auditing, accounting, or compliance.
- Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or CIA) is an added advantage.
