About the role
Intersect Consortium is a growing group of organizations operating in mental health, healthcare, rehabilitation, pharmaceuticals, and technology. We are looking for an experienced Internal Audit Executive to join our team in Abuja (FCT). This full-time position focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal control arrangements to promote good corporate governance.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory policies and internal financial policies.
- Assess and promote compliance with internal policies while advising management on control issues.
- Conduct daily reviews of expenses across all organizations to ensure accurate postings.
- Contribute to year-end financial audits and review final accounts prepared by accountants.
- Perform financial risk assessments and identify controls to mitigate identified risks.
- Document audit results in accordance with Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) standards.
- Coordinate with Risk, Legal, and Compliance teams on control-related activities.
- Prepare timely audit reports for executive management, the Audit Committee, and the Board of Directors.
- Identify internal control gaps and recommend measures for improvement.
- Take routine stock checks and verify records against physical stock.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of proven work experience in audit and compliance.
- B.Sc. in Business Administration or Accounting.
- Certification in ACCA, ICAN, ACA, CIA, or CISA.
- Strong knowledge of auditing, accounting practices, and financial data analysis.
- Good understanding of IIA standards and healthcare financial business operations.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team.
