About the role
Okta is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the newly formed Core Frontier team in Bengaluru. This team is part of the Core Identity organization, which manages the authentication pipeline and foundational elements of the Auth0 platform. As a founding engineer, you will help establish the technical standards and engineering culture for Okta’s growing presence in the region. You will collaborate with global teams in Europe and North America to ensure that advanced identity features are secure, scalable, and integrated seamlessly into the Auth0 ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Design and build innovative features that extend Auth0’s platform capabilities.
- Act as an architectural bridge to ensure complex internal logic translates into a polished, secure user experience.
- Contribute to the technical quality, security, reliability, and scalability of distributed systems.
- Work primarily with NodeJS (TypeScript/JavaScript), MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis on AWS and Azure.
- Mentor other engineers and participate in on-call rotations to maintain service health.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Security, Design, and QA teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in designing and building services with Node.js (JavaScript or TypeScript).
- Experience creating and maintaining public, secure APIs and front ends.
- Experience operating distributed systems in cloud environments like AWS or Azure.
- Strong commitment to quality with experience in unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- A product-oriented mindset with the ability to understand customer needs.
