About the role
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform that helps millions of businesses accept payments and grow their revenue. As a Risk Operations Manager, you will join the Partner Risk Operations (PRO) team at the Stripe Delivery Center in Bangalore. Your primary focus will be leading a team of associates to manage risk relationships with critical payment ecosystem partners, including card networks and banking partners. You will ensure operational controls mitigate risk while enabling strategic development opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, manage, coach, and develop a team of in-office Risk Operations Associates.
- Guide your team in handling risk-related user escalations and supporting internal teams with complex inquiries.
- Drive operational delivery and process improvements to maintain risk detection strategies that balance risk and customer experience.
- Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and foster a culture of transparency, empathy, and inclusion.
- Use data-driven analysis to measure team performance and guide decision-making.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of direct people management experience in a risk or operations function.
- Ability to partner effectively with globally distributed internal stakeholders.
- Operational background in new process launches, improvements, and service delivery.
- Strong problem-solving skills and comfort operating without clear guidelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
- Experience in payments, e-commerce, or fintech is preferred.
- Experience in building and scaling new teams from zero is preferred.
