About the role
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform used by millions of companies to accept payments and grow revenue. The company is expanding its Accounting team in Bengaluru and is looking for a detail-oriented professional to help scale operations in a fast-paced environment.
This role focuses on managing General Ledger activities, ensuring accurate close processes, and driving precision in specialized areas such as debt, prepaids, intercompany transactions, and lease accounting. The position requires a modern, tech-enabled mindset to leverage AI tools, automation, and advanced analytics.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end accounting schedules, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations for corporate accounting areas.
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities within prescribed timelines.
- Conduct variance analyses on P&L and Balance Sheet line items and provide actionable commentary to management.
- Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules, documentation, and workpapers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including F&S, FinOps, Tax, and Operations for complex transaction accounting.
- Leverage ERP automation and AI-driven tools to enhance accuracy and timeliness.
- Identify bottlenecks in the financial close cycle and implement automated solutions.
Requirements
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional accounting designation is mandatory.
- 4 to 6 years of post-qualification core corporate accounting experience with strong General Ledger expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to adopt and operate AI tools, workflow automation software, and advanced ERP modules.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and clear communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
