About the role
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform helping millions of businesses accept payments and grow. The Product Accounting team provides guidance on accounting implications and ensures accurate recording of business transactions. In this role, you will focus on products developed by Stripe’s Bridge subsidiary, advising cross-functional partners and ensuring timely, accurate month-end close results.
Responsibilities
- Plan and perform monthly close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting for Bridge products.
- Identify and implement scalable accounting processes to support global growth.
- Partner with business and finance teams to advise on accounting implications for new products and contracts.
- Work with Internal Systems and Engineering teams to improve financial systems and automate processes.
- Assess internal controls and design processes for emerging business activities.
- Analyze financial results to identify and address anomalies.
- Support external audit processes.
Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant public accounting and/or industry experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accountancy qualification such as CA, CPA, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP and experience with internal controls.
- Experience with monthly or quarterly close, journal entries, audits, regulatory reporting, and financial-statement preparation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to structure ambiguous work and build systems and automation.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders.
