We are currently recruiting a full-time Import Officer to join our Procurement & Supply Chain department in Ikeja, Lagos. This position reports directly to the Supply Chain / Procurement Manager.
Responsibilities
- Vendor & Inventory Management: Partner with international suppliers, freight forwarders, and warehouse teams to ensure timely material receipt.
- Import Operations: Manage the entire import cycle from purchase orders to final delivery, proactively resolving logistics delays.
- Compliance & Documentation: Prepare and manage trade documents, including PAAR, SONCAP, Bills of Lading, Form M, Customs Clearance, and Permits.
- Customs & Regulatory Liaison: Coordinate with customs agents, shipping lines, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth cargo clearance.
- Cost Control: Monitor duties, taxes, demurrage, and freight charges to minimize costs and optimize lead times.
Requirements
- Education: B.Sc or HND in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields.
- Experience: 3–5 years handling import documentation, customs clearance, and logistics in Nigeria. Experience in Manufacturing, FMCG, or Commodities is preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of Incoterms, customs duty calculations, ERP systems, and advanced Excel.
