About the role
New Hall International School is a private co-educational day and boarding school located in Chevy View Estate, Lekki, Lagos. Founded in 2008, the school offers a comprehensive curriculum blending national, British, and American standards from early childhood through college preparation. We are looking for a skilled technologist who can effectively teach IGCSE and A-Level Computer Science, bringing real-world IT experience to the classroom.
Responsibilities
- Teach digital literacy to Year 7 students and A-Level Computer Science, covering databases, algorithms, and computational thinking.
- Instruct students in Python or JavaScript and assist with code debugging.
- Apply practical networking skills, including setting up LANs, troubleshooting connectivity, and understanding TCP/IP protocols.
- Utilize educational platforms such as Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams, and other learning management systems.
- Run coding clubs, prepare students for programming competitions, and potentially manage parts of the school’s technical infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a relevant field.
- Minimum of 4 years of teaching experience in a similar role.
- Valid teaching certification, license, or PGDE.
- Excellent command of the English language (written and spoken).
- Strong classroom management skills and proficiency in modern teaching methodologies.
- Knowledge of digital tools and modern teaching methodologies.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA are highly desirable.
