About the role
Hilton is seeking an HVAC Technician to join the team at Transcorp Hilton in Abuja. In this role, you will ensure the hotel’s physical safety and functionality by maintaining critical systems. Your work directly supports the delivery of memorable guest experiences by keeping the environment comfortable and safe.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair single-phase and three-phase refrigeration systems and electrical circuits.
- Fabricate, install, and maintain HVAC ductwork and associated mechanical systems according to safety standards.
- Service commercial refrigeration equipment, including freezers, ice-making machines, and undercounter units.
- Inspect and maintain compressors, condensers, evaporators, and refrigeration components.
- Operate and troubleshoot water-cooled Trane chiller plants and cooling towers.
- Perform preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, and operational testing to ensure equipment reliability.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and spare-parts inventories.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns in kitchens, food storage, and other critical areas.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of practical experience in HVACR, including ductwork and commercial refrigeration maintenance.
- Technical certificate, diploma, or vocational training in refrigeration, air conditioning, or a related field is an advantage.
- Good understanding of electrical systems, motor starters, and HVAC controls.
- Hands-on experience with HVAC ductwork and commercial refrigeration equipment.
- Ability to use electrical testing instruments and refrigeration gauges safely.
- Strong problem-solving, record-keeping, and teamwork skills.
