About the role
Alliance for International Medical Action (ALIMA) is an independent humanitarian medical NGO dedicated to providing care in emergency situations. We are looking for a Human Resource Assistant to join our team in Abuja on a full-time basis. This role involves supporting the HR department with staff logistics, administrative management, and payroll processing.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate staff movement, including visa processing, flight bookings, and accommodation arrangements for visitors and expatriates.
- Manage staff annual leave planning and ensure proper filing of all staff documents.
- Handle payroll tasks such as capturing variable elements, validating requests, and generating monthly pay slips using Odoo/Homere software.
- Maintain trackers for travel information, visa status, and staff contact lists.
- Assist with official correspondence, mission orders, and organizing staff events or meetings.
- Support the Finance team during audits by providing necessary documentation.
Requirements
- Minimum of HND/BSc in HR Management, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
- At least one year of working experience in a similar HR or administrative role.
- Strong office administration or front office experience in a busy environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding staff information.
