About the role

Amaiden Energy Nigeria Limited, a leading player in the Nigerian oil and gas industry since 1997, is seeking an experienced professional to join their team in Port Harcourt. This contract position focuses on driving environmental compliance, managing environmental studies, and supporting the company’s Environmental Management System (EnMS) and Energy Management System (EnMS) goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review environmental studies procedures, plans, and work instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with NUPRC, FMENV, State regulations, the Petroleum Industry Act, and international standards like IPIECA and IFC.
  • Coordinate environmental sample laboratory analysis and witness regulator activities.
  • Liaise with project owners to prepare scopes of work (SOW) and terms of reference (TOR) for environmental studies.
  • Plan and coordinate technical review workshops and GIS-based sampling maps with the Geomatics team.
  • Act as the Responsible for Safety and Environment on Site Delegate (RSES-D) during field surveys.
  • Coordinate EIA stakeholder engagement events and public disclosure activities.
  • Support the implementation of Environmental Management Plans and participate in internal audits for ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certification.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of environmental studies, from permitting and field survey logistics to report submission and regulatory approval.
  • Maintain records of environmental approvals, certificates, and regulatory correspondences.

Requirements

  • B.Sc in Environmental Sciences or Applied Sciences with a minimum of second-class lower division.
  • At least 10 years of post-qualification experience, including 5 years in the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience in coordinating environmental studies or related duties is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, report writing, oral communication, and presentation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
  • Ability to interface effectively with sites, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders.
