About the role
Penafort Energy Limited is a values-driven Nigerian company operating in the energy, retail, beverages, and automotive sectors. We are looking for a detail-oriented Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Officer to help us maintain a safe work environment and ensure regulatory compliance across our operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain workplace health and safety policies.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify hazards and unsafe practices.
- Carry out risk assessments and investigate workplace incidents or near misses.
- Organize HSE induction sessions and safety training for employees.
- Monitor environmental practices and support waste management initiatives.
- Coordinate emergency response procedures and evacuation drills.
- Maintain HSE records and prepare periodic performance reports for management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of relevant HSE experience.
- Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and risk management practices.
- Experience in conducting inspections, investigations, and safety training.
- Professional HSE certification is an added advantage.
