About the role
Teestone Hotels & Apartments is a modern boutique hotel located in Ikeja, just 15 minutes from Muritala Muhammed International Airport. We are looking for a hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our team in Ojodu Berger, Lagos. This is a full-time position where you will support the Head Chef and Kitchen Supervisor in keeping our kitchen running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation, such as washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations.
- Wash dishes and kitchen tools efficiently.
- Receive, inspect, and store food deliveries and supplies.
- Follow proper food handling and storage procedures.
- Dispose of waste and maintain cleanliness in kitchen and storage areas.
- Replenish supplies and report low stock levels to supervisors.
- Help set up and close down kitchen stations.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Support the team during busy service periods.
Requirements
- Minimum of an SSCE / High School Certificate.
- Previous experience in a kitchen, restaurant, or hotel is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends.
