About the role
Dangote Group is one of Nigeria’s most diversified business conglomerates, known for excellent business practices and product quality. The company is currently seeking a HEMM Operator to join the team at the Obajana Plant in Kogi. In this position, you will be responsible for operating Heavy Earth Moving Machinery, including dumpers, excavators, and drillers, to ensure safe and effective productivity.
Responsibilities
- Operate assigned heavy equipment safely and efficiently in line with relevant legislation and policies.
- Practice workplace safety and perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
- Ensure all heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
- Recommend maintenance or repair requirements to the Shift Coordinator.
- Participate in routine maintenance of Heavy Earth Moving Machinery.
- Conduct pre-operational checks, including cleaning, lubricating, and refilling equipment as required.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Shift Engineer.
Requirements
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in operating heavy equipment.
- A valid Class H Drivers’ License.
- A Trade Test or its equivalent in a relevant discipline.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good data gathering and analysis skills.
- Proficiency in the use of office productivity tools.
- Baseline problem analysis and solving skills.
- Good networking and teaming skills.
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Creativity and an ability to think out of the box.
