About the role
Engineering Automation Technology Limited (EATL) is an indigenous technological engineering company based in Nigeria. We are looking for a skilled and experienced Heavy-Duty Mechanic to join our team in Akwa Ibom. This is a full-time position focused on installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical systems and heavy-duty equipment.
Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide timely solutions.
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other trades to support operations.
- Install, maintain, and repair heavy-duty mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Diagnose mechanical faults in engines, hydraulics, pumps, and drivetrains.
- Ensure compliance with mechanical codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as a heavy-duty mechanic in industrial or construction settings.
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diesel/Automotive Mechanics, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, gearboxes, and drive systems.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools, hand and power tools, and mechanical measuring equipment.
- Physical ability to work in demanding environments, including lifting, climbing, and confined spaces.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with local and international mechanical codes and safety standards.
