About the role
Emobella Engineering Nigeria Limited is an indigenous mechanical and electrical engineering service company based in Lagos. We specialize in metal fabrication, pipe fitting, welding, instrumentation, and pressure vessel inspection. We are looking for a dedicated Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Officer to help us maintain high safety standards while delivering quality engineering services.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine workplace safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure workers follow safety procedures.
- Perform safety audits in line with company policy and compliance requirements.
- Prepare incident reports and provide statistical information to management.
- Prepare Risk Assessment Management (RAMS) and Permit-To-Work (PTW) documents as required.
- Verify that all tools and equipment are safe for use before employees operate them.
- Assess and certify working platforms such as scaffolds and ladders.
- Identify training needs and coordinate with management to implement safety training.
- Ensure proper traffic management on-site and during road work.
- Oversee waste management, including segregation, storage, and disposal.
- Inspect premises and personnel work to identify non-conformities, such as lack of protective equipment.
Requirements
- Relevant qualifications in Health, Safety, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in safety practices.
- Knowledge of HSE documentation and regulations.
- Ability to identify risks and promote a strong safety culture.
