About the role
Zira People Advisory is seeking a Head Teacher to lead academic activities and school administration in Lagos. This full-time position involves working closely with teachers, parents, students, and management to maintain high educational standards. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with a solid background in teaching and school administration.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of academic programmes and curriculum delivery.
- Conduct classroom observations, review lesson plans, and provide constructive feedback to teachers.
- Manage staff performance, including appraisals, training needs, and recruitment support.
- Monitor student welfare, attendance, behavior, and academic progress while ensuring safeguarding practices are followed.
- Coordinate school assemblies, events, and extracurricular activities.
- Build positive relationships with parents and stakeholders, addressing concerns professionally.
- Monitor academic performance through assessments and prepare reports for school management.
- Support the implementation of school improvement plans and strategic academic goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed.) or a relevant discipline with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).
- 5–7 years of teaching experience, including at least 2–3 years in a school leadership or administrative role.
- Strong knowledge of the Nigerian educational curriculum and relevant policies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and school management systems.
- Relevant teaching qualification and TRCN registration or eligibility for registration.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
