About the role
Moniepoint Incorporated is a global business payments and banking platform serving over 600,000 businesses. We are looking for a Head of Engineering, Supply Chain to lead the software behind our physical operations. This role focuses on the systems that track, move, and maintain millions of POS terminals. It is a backend and distributed systems challenge, not a hardware engineering position. You will lead the technical strategy for this domain and manage a large engineering organization in a remote, distributed environment.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical strategy and architecture for inventory, logistics, and repair management software.
- Lead an engineering organization of approximately 25 engineers, including managers, QA, SRE, and Data Engineering.
- Drive the platformization of inventory and supply chain systems to ensure operational data is visible and consistent across millions of terminals.
- Bridge the gap between operational practice and software systems by building disciplined solutions.
- Define architecture standards, engineering processes, and quality metrics across squads.
- Collaborate with business and operational stakeholders to translate requirements into engineering solutions.
- Hire, mentor, and develop engineering managers and senior engineers to support team growth to 30+ members.
Requirements
- 10–15 years of overall software engineering experience, with at least 5 years leading engineering teams through growth phases.
- 5+ years of hands-on, production-level experience writing and shipping Java code as a practising engineer.
- At least 5 years of experience managing managers, leading an engineering organization through other engineering leaders.
- Deep hands-on experience in supply chain, inventory, warehouse, or logistics software at scale.
- Fintech or regulated-industry experience, with an understanding of device management in a payments environment.
- Strong backend engineering skills for data-intensive, distributed, operational systems.
- Proven system design ability at large scale, managing hundreds of thousands of devices or more.
- Experience managing and developing large engineering teams of 20 or more members.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, translating complex technical concepts for non-technical leaders.
- A product-minded approach to solving operational problems with engineering solutions.
