About the role
Moniepoint Incorporated is a global business payments and banking platform serving over 600,000 businesses. We are looking for a Head of Engineering to lead the Sales and Marketing Tools team. This team owns MonieCRM, a custom-built workforce operations platform that powers our 50,000-strong sales network. The role focuses on modernizing and re-architecting systems that handle critical financial operations, including wallets, commission calculation, and cashouts, ensuring reliability for more than 20 million users.
Responsibilities
- Lead the modernization and re-architecture of legacy systems to improve reliability and performance.
- Ensure accurate and timely calculation, attribution, and payment of commissions and earnings at network scale.
- Manage the engineering of the sales and marketing platform, including partner management and rewards systems.
- Oversee the marketing technology stack, including the customization of Braze for customer engagement.
- Build and lead a high-performing engineering team of 20+ members, developing a strong bench of managers and senior engineers.
Requirements
- 10–15 years of overall software engineering experience, with at least 5 years leading engineering teams through growth phases.
- 5+ years of hands-on, production-level experience writing and shipping Java code.
- At least 5 years of experience managing managers (leading an engineering organization through other leaders).
- Proven platform engineering experience at scale, including navigating legacy migrations at 20M+ user scale.
- Strong backend engineering skills in high-throughput, data-intensive distributed systems, proficient in Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience building systems where financial correctness matters (commissions, payouts, wallets, ledgers) is a strong advantage.
- Fintech or payments background is strongly preferred.
