About the role
Future Concerns Nigeria Limited (FCNL), in partnership with NAFFCO, is expanding its Fire Protection and Engineering operations. They are looking for an experienced leader to head the Engineering & Estimation team in Lagos. This role involves overseeing technical designs, cost estimation, and compliance with fire safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Engineering, estimation, and tender preparation teams.
- Review and approve fire-fighting designs, hydraulic calculations, and shop drawings.
- Manage Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost estimates, and subcontractor offers to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
- Support the Sales team with technical solutions and client clarifications.
- Oversee material submittals, technical approvals, and compliance with NFPA and local codes.
- Lead testing, commissioning, and authority approvals for maintenance works.
- Provide technical oversight of installation through subcontractors, including quality audits.
- Maintain the company’s rates database, design standards, and engineering procedures.
Requirements
- B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering with COREN registration (or eligibility).
- 10+ years of experience in fire-fighting systems, including at least 3 years in a lead or managerial role.
- Strong command of NFPA standards (e.g., NFPA 13, 14, 15, 20, 22, 25, 2001).
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic calculations, design, tendering, and BOQ pricing.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and hydraulic calculation software; BIM/Revit exposure is an advantage.
- Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
