About the role
Strivo Labs helps businesses scale through end-to-end digital solutions, including custom design, MVP development, and automation. We are looking for a hands-on Head of Engineering to lead our technical function. This role requires a balance of deep technical expertise, people leadership, and business acumen. You will set the technical direction, own major projects, and ensure our products are secure, scalable, and high-performing.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor engineering teams across multiple projects and product areas.
- Own the end-to-end delivery of major engineering projects, from planning to deployment.
- Provide technical direction and make sound architectural and technology decisions.
- Ensure systems are scalable, secure, and reliable to support business growth.
- Oversee code quality, testing, deployment, and engineering excellence.
- Challenge unrealistic timelines or requirements and provide practical alternatives.
- Work closely with Product, Design, and Operations to translate business goals into technical solutions.
- Manage engineering resources, priorities, and technical dependencies.
- Identify and manage technical risks, security concerns, and system vulnerabilities.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of high-performing engineering talent.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with significant time in engineering leadership.
- Proven experience leading teams and delivering complex technology projects to production.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and designing scalable production-grade applications.
- Experience in fintech, financial services, or other highly regulated environments is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholders effectively.
- Assertive leadership style with the confidence to defend technical decisions.
