About the role
Pan-Atlantic University (PAU) is a values-driven institution committed to holistic education and professional integrity. We are seeking a Head, HR Operations to lead our HR operations, employee relations, and compliance functions. This full-time position is based in Lagos and reports directly to the HR Director.
Responsibilities
- Lead HR Operations staff and establish clear workflows, service standards, and performance measures.
- Oversee employee records, HRIS, leave, HMO, pensions, insurance, and other benefits administration.
- Manage approved recruitment processes, employment documentation, probation, confirmations, and exits.
- Validate HR payroll inputs and coordinate with Finance while maintaining segregation of duties.
- Ensure implementation of employment policies, regulatory compliance, data protection, and HR audit actions.
- Manage formal grievances, investigations, and disciplinary procedures, escalating sensitive cases to the HR Director.
- Supervise HR reporting and workforce data quality to support workforce planning decisions.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of progressive HR experience, including 4 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong experience in HR operations, employee relations, and Nigerian employment compliance; higher education experience is an advantage.
- Professional HR qualification or membership (CIPM, CIPD, or SHRM) preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field; postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Sound judgement, discretion, integrity, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong knowledge of HRIS, employee records, benefits administration, and payroll controls.
