- Job type: Full-time
- Salary: Competitive executive remuneration package, commensurate with experience, demonstrated track record, leadership capability and the strategic value the successful candidate brings to VivaFemini.
- Deadline: 11th November, 2026
About the role
VivaFemini is a FemTech company building Africa’s Clinical Operating System for Women’s Health. We are addressing some of the most persistent challenges affecting women’s healthcare across Africa, including fragmented care, limited access to specialist services and the lack of personalised, continuous support throughout a woman’s health journey.
Working closely with the executive leadership, you will drive funding opportunities through to financial close, lead investment appraisal and financial planning, strengthen treasury and financial governance, and provide the financial intelligence needed to guide major business decisions. VivaFemini is seeking a commercially astute and experienced Head, Finance & Investments to lead our financial strategy, FP&A, capital raising, investment management and capital deployment as we scale our integrated women’s healthcare ecosystem across Africa.
This is not a traditional accounting or financial reporting role. We need a strategic finance leader who can raise capital, identify and evaluate commercial opportunities, determine where capital should be invested, manage its deployment and ensure that financial decisions deliver sustainable returns.
Responsibilities
- Financial Planning, Analysis & Commercial Performance: Lead FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, integrated financial modelling and financial performance analysis. Lead, manage and develop the Finance team, establishing clear responsibilities, performance expectations, accountability and continuous professional development. Evaluate revenue models, unit economics, profitability, cash flow and the financial viability of business initiatives. Provide actionable financial insights and recommendations to the executive leadership.
- Capital Raising & Funding Execution: Identify, originate and secure funding opportunities across institutional debt, equity, grants, development finance and other appropriate instruments. Lead financing transactions from opportunity identification through due diligence, negotiation, financial close and disbursement. Build relationships with investors, lenders, DFIs, foundations and other capital providers.
- Capital Management, Treasury & Deployment: Develop and oversee capital allocation, treasury, liquidity management and investment deployment strategies. Ensure capital is deployed responsibly, with appropriate financial controls, risk management and performance monitoring. Monitor funding obligations, investment utilisation, financial returns and capital preservation.
- Corporate Finance, Investments & Strategic Opportunities: Advise leadership on capital structure, investment priorities, financing options and major commercial decisions. Lead financial feasibility studies, investment appraisal, valuation, scenario analysis and return-on-investment assessments. Identify and evaluate strategic investment, commercial growth, expansion, partnership and acquisition opportunities.
- Finance Leadership & Governance: Strengthen financial controls, statutory compliance, financial risk management and accountability. Lead and develop the Finance function, ensuring strong financial planning, reporting, treasury and governance. Present financial performance, investment recommendations and fundraising progress to executive leadership, the Board and relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
- Established professional relationships within the banking, investment, institutional funding or development finance ecosystem.
- Ability to identify and evaluate strategic opportunities, develop investment cases and translate financial analysis into sound commercial decisions.
- Demonstrable, hands-on expertise in FP&A, financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management and commercial financial analysis.
- Proven track record of originating, structuring, negotiating or successfully closing significant funding or investment transactions, with clear evidence of personal contribution.
- Strong experience in capital management, treasury, capital allocation, investment appraisal and financial risk management.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, commercial judgement, negotiation skills and confidence engaging with CEOs, Boards, investors and lenders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, Investment Management or a related discipline.
- ACA, ACCA, CFA, MBA or relevant postgraduate qualifications are advantageous but do not substitute for practical experience and demonstrable results.
- Strong understanding of institutional debt, equity financing, development finance, grants, valuation, capital structures and transaction execution.
- Experience in healthcare, HealthTech, technology, infrastructure, high-growth businesses or African investment markets is advantageous.
- Minimum 8 years’ relevant professional experience, including at least 3 years in a senior finance, investment or corporate finance leadership role.
