About the role
Accor is seeking a skilled Painter/Polisher to join the team at Alwadi Hotel Doha, its first MGallery boutique hotel located in Msheireb Downtown Doha. As part of the Engineering team, you will help preserve the hotel’s unique character and elegance by maintaining walls, furniture, and fixtures in excellent condition. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their craft and wants to contribute to creating memorable guest experiences in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform painting, polishing, varnishing, and finishing work on walls, ceilings, doors, and furniture.
- Carry out routine maintenance, touch-ups, and repairs to uphold hotel standards.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks, and applying primers.
- Select and apply appropriate paints, coatings, and polishing products for the desired finish.
- Inspect surfaces to ensure a smooth, high-quality result.
- Maintain tools and equipment, and keep work areas clean and safe.
- Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures when handling materials.
- Report maintenance issues and coordinate with the Engineering team to complete requests promptly.
- Assist with preventive maintenance and renovation projects as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Painter, Polisher, or in a similar maintenance role is preferred.
- Good knowledge of painting, sanding, surface preparation, and polishing techniques.
- Familiarity with various paints, varnishes, coatings, and polishing materials.
- Ability to identify surface defects and perform appropriate repairs.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Physically fit to perform tasks, including working at heights when authorized.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and strong organizational skills.
