About the role
Careem is seeking an Account Manager II to join the dynamic Shops team in Dubai. You will serve as the primary point of contact for grocery and supermarket partners, ensuring their commercial success on the Careem platform. This role requires a blend of negotiation skills, relationship management, and strategic thinking to help partners thrive.
Responsibilities
- Account Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with high-profile grocery chains and supermarkets.
- Growth: Drive business growth for existing accounts and onboard new high-value brands by improving catalog depth, pricing, and availability.
- Analysis: Use data on GTV, order frequency, and basket size to make informed decisions and improve account performance.
- Performance Reviews: Conduct periodic business reviews with partners to plan for commercial and operational improvements.
- Collaboration: Work with internal teams such as Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to meet growth objectives.
- Monetization: Partner with grocery brands to leverage advertising and in-app promotions to increase order volume.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in account management or commercial roles, ideally in grocery, FMCG, retail, or e-commerce.
- Experience in a high-growth startup environment is highly preferred.
- A minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a team-oriented and humble mindset.
- Ability to lead relationships with high-profile retail partners.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to change.
- Quick thinking to understand complex commercial opportunities like margin structures and promotional mechanics.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
- A self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and time management.
