About the role
Scruples Resources Limited is a premier oil and gas support services provider based in Lagos. We are seeking a Geoscientist III to integrate geological, geophysical, petrophysical, reservoir, and production data. Your goal will be to develop robust predictive subsurface models that support field development, reservoir management, and production optimization. This is a contract position based in Lagos.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain integrated geological models using seismic interpretation, well correlations, and production data.
- Identify and mature development opportunities, including infill wells, sidetracks, and workovers.
- Provide production-geology input to Field Development Plans and reservoir-management activities.
- Lead geological input for development and appraisal well maturation, including well objectives and depth prognosis.
- Provide geological support during drilling and workover operations to manage uncertainties and risks.
- Prepare and quality-assure geological inputs for well proposals, post-well evaluations, and End-of-Well Reports.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Reservoir Engineering, Production Technology, and Wells.
- Coach and mentor less-experienced geoscientists and contribute to technical knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Minimum of a B.Sc in Geology or a related geoscience discipline.
- Minimum of 9 years’ relevant experience in an operating exploration and production environment (Note: The application instructions also state a minimum of 7 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry).
- Demonstrated competence in production/reservoir geology, geological modelling, and reservoir characterization.
- Strong understanding of seismic interpretation, petrophysics, and uncertainty management.
- Practical experience in development/appraisal well planning and operational geological support.
- Advanced working knowledge of Petrel or equivalent geological interpretation and modelling software.
- Strong multidisciplinary integration, analytical, technical-writing, and presentation skills.
- A Higher Degree or relevant professional qualification is an advantage.
