About the role
Jesuit Memorial College is a Catholic and Jesuit coeducational boarding secondary school in Port Harcourt. The school aims to develop students’ character, discipline, and intellectual skills to prepare them for higher education and leadership roles. As a Geography Teacher, you will serve as a role model and help students connect geographical concepts to their everyday lives.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver geography lessons in accordance with the Nigerian National Policy for Education and school regulations.
- Cover all items in the school’s scheme of work effectively and efficiently.
- Teach students practical geographical knowledge relevant to their daily lives.
- Maintain high standards of conduct and serve as a positive role model for students.
Requirements
- B.Ed or B.Sc degree with PGDE in Geography or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 2 years of teaching experience in a similar role.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Good command of the English language.
- Understanding of adolescent psychology and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suites, including Word and PowerPoint.
