About the role
Stanbic IBTC Bank is seeking a Fund Accountant to join the Stanbic IBTC Asset Management team in Lagos. In this role, you will independently manage core fund accounting processes and reporting. You will be responsible for resolving General Ledger (GL) and Net Asset Value (NAV) exceptions to ensure accurate outputs for clients and auditors.
Responsibilities
- Execute day-to-day accounting functions for managed funds, including maintaining records, reconciliations, valuations, and generating fund prices.
- Render returns to regulatory authorities and ensure reports comply with local and international accounting guidelines.
- Carry out financial reporting and accounting functions to support the valuation of mutual funds.
- Prepare financial statements for mutual funds and provide reports to the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Requirements
- A B.Sc or equivalent Honours Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Banking & Finance, or a related field.
- Experience resolving GL exceptions by liaising with upstream teams and applying journal corrections.
- Experience working with financial market instruments and applying valuation logic for NAV reviews.
- Fund accounting, investment reporting, or asset management experience with technical accounting knowledge.
- ACA/ACCA certification is an added advantage.
