About the role
MEA Logistics & Transport Limited is expanding its tanker and truck fleet. We are looking for a hands-on fleet professional to ensure our vehicles operate safely, on time, and in good condition. This role is based in Nigeria and reports to the Logistics Manager.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, brief, and coach drivers and support staff.
- Enforce Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) rules, including pre-trip inspections and PPE usage.
- Ensure all trips have correct documentation, such as waybills and permits.
- Report daily on fleet status, performance, and incidents.
- Optimize turnaround times and increase truck utilization.
- Monitor fleet movements using GPS/telematics and manage journey plans.
- Track fuel usage, maintenance costs, and flag any product losses or deviations.
- Plan daily truck movements and coordinate preventive maintenance.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in fleet coordination or supervision.
- Experience in petroleum products, LPG/CNG, or heavy-haulage transport is preferred.
- Supervisors must have at least 2 years leading drivers or a dispatch team.
- Strong knowledge of road-transport HSE and regulatory requirements (DPR/NMDPRA, FRSC).
- Familiarity with Nigerian road corridors and loading points.
- Proficiency in GPS tracking, telematics, and basic fleet reporting using Excel.
