About the role
Action Against Hunger is seeking a Finance Specialist to join its team in Abuja. You will support the mission’s financial strategy, budget management, and reporting. This role reports to the Deputy Head of Finance Department, with a proposed start date of November 2026.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze monthly financial plans, including expat costing and BFU balances.
- Contribute to the development of annual financial assumptions and yearly strategy.
- Manage grant financial and budget compliance, including preparing donor reports and monitoring over/underspending.
- Support compliance and risk assessment by monitoring financial controls and collaborating with audits.
- Provide capacity building and training for finance staff on budget management tools and policies.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Finance and Accountancy.
- Knowledge of donor rules, compliance requirements, and Nigerian statutory rules.
- Experience supervising others and working with donor-funded programs.
- Strong organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage stress and balance competing priorities.
