About the role
Première Urgence Internationale (PUI) is an international humanitarian organization supporting civilians affected by conflict, disasters, and economic collapse. PUI has operated in Nigeria since 2016, providing health, nutrition, and protection services in Borno and Katsina States.
This is a contract position based in Abuja. The Finance Officer will support the Deputy Finance Coordinator in managing financial operations and cash flow.
Responsibilities
- Monitor petty cash management and ensure daily physical inventory accuracy.
- Prepare weekly cash forecasts and manage base-level cash availability.
- Validate checks and monitor payment due dates for contracts.
- Record bank expenses in Excel books and ensure invoice compliance with PUI regulations.
- Monitor the voucher process and maintain high-quality archiving of invoices.
- Prepare monthly accounting closures, bank reconciliations, and annual closing documents.
- Issue monthly With Holding Tax reports and prepare external audit visits.
- Supervise team tasks, update leave plans, and support staff recruitment.
