About the role
EYN Projects is a community-based non-profit organization dedicated to humanitarian and developmental services. We are seeking a Finance Officer to work under the supervision of the Head of Finance. This role involves managing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, and supporting audit processes.
Responsibilities
- Assist in processing employee claims and expenditures in line with financial and procurement policies.
- Process and verify claims from contractors and suppliers.
- Maintain payment invoices and post transactions in the books of account.
- Manage the petty cash box with proper accounting and security measures.
- Ensure timely remittance of PAYE and Withholding Tax.
- Verify staff and field assistant payrolls and timesheets.
- Prepare cheques and ensure proper receipt by payees.
- Maintain paid vouchers in chronological order for auditing purposes.
- Ensure safe custody of financial documents and data.
- Participate in quarterly and annual audits.
Requirements
- Minimum of a BSc in Accounting or Business Administration.
- Minimum of five credits including Mathematics and English.
- At least three years of working experience.
- Membership of a relevant professional body is an added advantage.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and QuickBooks.
- Effective communication skills in English and Hausa.
