About the role
Baker Hughes is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support customers with the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of centrifugal compressors. Based in Port Harcourt, you will coordinate field activities and ensure high-quality service delivery. This role involves working directly with clients and technical teams to keep critical equipment running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical advice and support to clients and field crews during installation and maintenance.
- Oversee the unloading, inspection, and placement of compressors and auxiliary equipment on foundations.
- Check foundation dimensions, positioning, levelling, and alignment of equipment.
- Perform installation, commissioning, and startup of various Baker Hughes centrifugal compressor models.
- Conduct minor and major inspections, including checking clearances, bearings, seals, and other internal components.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience, or a 3-year Technical Diploma with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience with rotating equipment, specifically vertical or horizontal centrifugal compressors, at customer sites.
- Strong technical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously on installation and maintenance tasks in the field.
