About the role
Ascentech Services Limited is hiring a Field Engineer to support ISP network infrastructure and customer connectivity in Kano. This full-time position involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network equipment to ensure reliable service for customers.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain ISP network equipment and customer premises equipment (CPE).
- Configure routers, switches, and access points to meet technical and safety standards.
- Provide technical support to customers and coordinate with the Network Operations team.
- Perform site surveys, equipment testing, and preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity, network, and equipment faults.
- Carry out fiber optic, wireless, and network installations at customer locations.
- Maintain accurate records of field activities, installations, faults, and repairs.
- Respond promptly to service outages and monitor network performance.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in ISP, telecommunications, networking, or a related technical environment.
- HND or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of fiber optics, wireless networks, LAN/WAN, routers, switches, and CPE.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, in the field, and travel to different locations.
