About the role
Cobranet Limited is seeking a Fiber Optics Engineer to join their team in Kwara and Lagos. The company has been providing reliable internet solutions since 2003, maintaining a network with over 99.5% availability. This is a full-time position focused on maintaining and expanding their fiber optic infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Perform fiber splicing, termination, bonding, and grounding to division standards.
- Handle customer premise installations, including racking, cabling, and equipment setup.
- Assist construction and engineering departments in accepting and activating fiber networks.
- Execute ring cuts on live fiber without disrupting existing services.
- Use tools such as OTDRs, power meters, and cleavers for testing and installation.
- Monitor fiber equipment and perform corrective actions to resolve issues.
- Work various schedules, including night shifts and on-call duties as required.
Requirements
- BSc or HND in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering or a related field.
- At least 3 years of technical experience in telecommunications or network operations.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco switching and routing configuration and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in modern fiber splicing techniques and multi-vendor telecom equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
