About the role
BW Agro Farms Limited is an integrated agribusiness company focused on crop cultivation, animal husbandry, and agricultural value chain development. We are looking for a dedicated Farm Manager to help drive food security and build a sustainable agricultural economy in Nigeria. This is a contract position based in Ndiowu, Orumba North, Anambra.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and train farm workers, contractors, and seasonal laborers.
- Keep accurate records of crop yields, expenses, and revenue.
- Manage inventory levels of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other farm inputs.
- Monitor crop yields, livestock health, and environmental conditions to identify and address issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental laws, and industry standards.
- Develop and implement farming plans, schedules, and budgets to optimize productivity.
- Stay informed about market trends, consumer preferences, and industry developments.
- Market farm products to buyers, distributors, or direct consumers.
- Plan and coordinate farm operations, including planting, harvesting, and livestock care.
- Coordinate with agronomists, veterinarians, and other agricultural professionals.
- Implement sustainable farming practices to conserve resources and minimize environmental impact.
- Represent the farm in community events, agricultural fairs, or industry associations.
- Monitor and control expenses to stay within budgetary limits.
- Maintain and repair farm equipment, machinery, and infrastructure as needed.
- Participate in agricultural research, trials, or extension programs.
Requirements
