About the role
Villa Park Hotel and Suites is seeking an Experienced Accountant to join our team in Abuja (FCT). This full-time position focuses on managing the hotel’s accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, and providing timely management information. The hotel, founded in 2007, is dedicated to offering luxury hospitality and professional service.
Responsibilities
- Strengthen internal controls and supervise junior accounting staff.
- Oversee accounts payable, receivables, payroll accounting, and month-end closing processes.
- Reconcile bank accounts, guest ledgers, supplier accounts, and daily revenue from various hotel services.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, budgets, and cash-flow forecasts.
- Monitor operating costs, inventory values, and departmental budget variances.
- Coordinate tax and statutory remittances, support external audits, and maintain complete supporting documentation.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including experience in a hotel or hospitality business.
- BSc or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and hotel property management or point-of-sale systems.
- ICAN or ACCA qualification is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to meet reporting deadlines.
