About the role
Ascentech Services Limited is seeking an experienced ETP/WTP Operations Supervisor to join their team in Kebbi. This full-time position reports to the Plant/Engineering Manager within the Engineering department. The role focuses on ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of Water Treatment Plants (WTP) and Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP). You will be responsible for maintaining treated water availability, effective wastewater treatment, and strict adherence to HSE standards and environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor WTP/ETP processes, including equipment, pumps, filters, blowers, and chemical-dosing systems.
- Ensure treated water and effluent meet required quality and regulatory standards.
- Manage treatment chemicals, covering safe storage, dosing, usage, and stock control.
- Conduct equipment inspections and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Maintain accurate operational, quality, maintenance, and safety records.
- Supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate WTP/ETP operators and utility personnel.
- Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and environmental regulations.
- Identify and promptly escalate equipment failures, quality deviations, and environmental incidents.
Requirements
- HND or Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant WTP/ETP experience, preferably in manufacturing, FMCG, agro-processing, or food processing.
- Practical knowledge of water and wastewater treatment, chemical dosing, filtration, pumps, and treatment equipment.
- Strong leadership, analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of HSE standards and environmental compliance.
