About the role
Future Concerns Nigeria Limited (FCNL), in partnership with NAFFCO, is expanding its Fire Protection and Engineering team. We are looking for a qualified and results-driven Estimator / Tender Engineer to join our operations in Lagos. This position is ideal for a professional with strong experience in fire-fighting systems estimation and tendering.
Responsibilities
- Review tender documents, specifications, and drawings, and raise clarifications (RFIs) with clients and consultants.
- Participate in site surveys with the sales team and perform quantity take-offs from drawings.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and cost estimates with separate supply and installation rates using product catalogues and rates databases.
- Issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to suppliers and registered subcontractors, and evaluate offers on a like-for-like basis.
- Assemble complete tender packages, including priced BOQs, technical compliance statements, qualifications, and commercial terms.
- Monitor tender deadlines and submissions, maintaining up-to-date tender registers and document control records.
- Price variations, Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs), and counter sales of stock items and spares.
- Maintain the price and rates database and review estimates against actual project costs.
Requirements
- B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–5 years of experience in estimation or tendering for fire-fighting systems (e.g., sprinklers, hydrants, fire pumps, foam or gas suppression).
- Working knowledge of NFPA standards and fire protection system components.
- Strong skills in quantity take-off and cost build-up, including labour, material, and subcontract elements.
- Advanced Excel proficiency and the ability to read AutoCAD drawings (estimating software experience is an advantage).
- Highly organized and accurate, with the ability to manage multiple tenders and meet tight deadlines.
