The Abia State Civil Service Commission is hiring a Registered Emergency and Trauma Nurse to provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients. This full-time position is based in Umuahia, Abia. The role involves supporting patient recovery, educating families on prevention and healthy habits, and maintaining strict health and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patient conditions and assess needs to deliver optimal care.
- Observe and interpret symptoms, communicating findings to physicians.
- Collaborate with medical teams to create individualized care plans.
- Perform routine procedures such as blood pressure measurements and administering injections.
- Administer medication and treatments as ordered by physicians.
- Maintain facility hygiene and safety, including equipment decontamination and bed preparation.
- Provide immediate medical care in emergency situations.
- Assist surgeons during operations.
- Supervise and train Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and nursing assistants.
- Attend workshops and conferences to expand professional knowledge.
Requirements
- B.Sc or diploma from a nursing program.
- A valid nursing license.
- Proven experience as a registered emergency and trauma nurse.
- Strong knowledge of nursing care methods, emergency care, and health safety guidelines.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Compassionate, responsible, and patient with strong problem-solving abilities.
