About the role
Atlas Copco Nigeria, established in 2009 with offices in Lagos and Port Harcourt, is seeking an Electronics Commodity Buyer. As an OEM in the Alternative Energy Space, the company designs and supplies CNG fueling systems. In this role, you will lead the sourcing strategy for electronics and develop a resilient supplier base. You will report to the Sourcing Manager and work closely with R&D, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement sourcing strategies for the Electronics commodity.
- Develop and manage suppliers for electronic components, PCB assemblies, and EMS providers.
- Drive supplier development initiatives focused on quality, capacity, and delivery performance.
- Support new product introductions by ensuring supplier readiness and component availability.
- Collaborate with R&D and Quality teams to evaluate technical solutions.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities through should-cost analysis and value engineering.
- Lead supplier performance reviews and development plans.
- Analyze sourcing data to provide actionable recommendations for optimization.
Requirements
- Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electronics sourcing, supplier development, or technical procurement.
- Strong knowledge of electronic components, PCB assemblies, and EMS suppliers.
- Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and supplier qualification.
- Good knowledge of SAP MM.
- Experience with Power BI, advanced Excel, and data-driven decision making.
- Fluent in Italian and English.
- Preferred: Experience with EMS, embedded systems, or power electronics.
