About the role
Ascentech Services Limited is seeking a proactive Electrical Engineer to join their processing operations in Kano. This full-time position focuses on the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of electrical, automation, and instrumentation systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with industrial electrical equipment and strong problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot alarm systems, VFDs, soft starters, and programmable control systems.
- Diagnose electrical faults at the component level to extend equipment lifespan.
- Perform maintenance and repair on control centres, high-voltage equipment, and motors.
- Install and maintain building electrical circuits and related equipment.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial motor controls and pump drives.
- Maintain engine generators and associated control circuit equipment.
- Conduct thermographic inspections of electrical distribution panels.
Requirements
- Diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- 1 to 5 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Practical knowledge of industrial motor controls, VFDs, soft starters, and control systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain various types of electrical machinery.
