About the role
James Hope University is a premier postgraduate institution in Lagos dedicated to developing business leaders and professionals. We are looking for an experienced Educational Technology Specialist to bridge the gap between IT and academic instruction. This full-time position based in Lekki focuses on ensuring the seamless integration of technology into the teaching and learning experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the Student Information Management System (SIMS) for accurate academic data.
- Train faculty and staff on the effective use of instructional technologies.
- Serve as a member of the ICT helpdesk team to resolve user support requests.
- Oversee the setup and support of virtual classroom environments.
- Conduct general maintenance and support of computing facilities, including hardware, software, and network issues.
- Evaluate and recommend new instruction-related technologies to improve pedagogical outcomes.
- Provide ongoing technical support to faculty and students on instruction-related platforms.
- Manage, administer, and optimize the University’s Learning Management System (Moodle).
Requirements
- BSc or HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Extensive experience working within a Higher Education Institution is mandatory.
- Proven proficiency in managing Moodle LMS and virtual classroom platforms (e.g., Zoom Education, Teams for Education, Adobe Connect).
- Strong understanding of instructional design principles and current educational technologies.
- Excellent communication, training, and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to provide hands-on technical support for general computing facilities.
